August 2021 - Present

The Pack Marketing and Student Engagement Intern

Loyola University Chicago Athletics

Throughout this internship, Sal has worked with a team of interns to create and implement detailed pre-game and in-game promotional content for designated home events with the goal of improving the student game day experience and establishing the best in-game atmosphere in the conference. This work included using skills in copywriting, production, and creation of both digital and print advertisements. Sal also worked in a group to assist the marketing team with creating and implementing campaigns to increase student attendance in the 2021 - 2022 seasons, resulting in new records for single-game student attendance for Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball and increased average student attendance by 61% for Men’s Basketball. Finally, Sal managed The Pack social media accounts to promote games and marketing initiatives to target audience and increase engagement and increased Instagram following by over 300 during the 2021 - 2022 seasons through dozens of content pieces. This internship has been and will continue to be an exciting opportunity for Sal which combines his passion for sports with his interest in marketing communications and offers him the chance to work hands on with a high-level Division 1 marketing team.

Spring 2022

Chicago Fair Trade Digital Marketing Competency Partnership

Working with a team of three other communications students, Sal partnered with a Chicago-based organization, Chicago Fair Trade, to evaluate and advise their digital presence. This homegrown Chicago-based cause granted the group access to their web and social media analytics to assess their digital competency, revisit their goals and targets, and suggest actionable items. Taking a leadership role, Sal was the group's point of contact with the business and took a directive role in delegating work for the project.

Spring 2022

Costco Naturals Marketing Proposal

During Spring 2022 semester, Sal worked with a group of three other students to propose a hypothetical health expansion of Costco Wholesale. Costco Naturals would be a new in-store experience at Costco locations, offering organic, high-end foods at affordable, bulk prices typical of a Costco. The team identified a target market of women age 25 - 40 who value an active and healthy lifestyle while still getting a good deal. After identifying the products target market and product, Sal lead the creation and presentation of a full- length marketing plan including a SWOT analysis of Costco's positioning and a marketing strategy complete with the target market and promotion and distribution strategy.
